PROGRAM: LET’S SIT DOWN AND PRACTISE YOGA

My first encounters with yoga were hesitant, as is often the case with teenagers. Despite the fact that I did Japanese martial arts – judo – competitively, this Eastern philosophy did not appeal to me much. I practiced the Sun Salutation because the coaches claimed it’s an ideal warm-up exercise which will make me flexible and nimble which will help me be better at judo.

I realized this truth a few years later, during my physical education studies. At that time I had been teaching aerobics, spinning classes, kick boxing, smimming and diving, and creating fitness programs not only for models. Even in those times I drew inspiration from yoga and started to perceive it from a different point of view, to understand deeper connections and to discover its charm.

I started attending workshops in the Czech Republic and abroad, completed the course of power yoga and passed the entrance exam to Hinduisticu university in America succesfully. During my studies I have passed exams to become an instructor for Hatha yoga and for other specialized courses – yoga for pregnancy, yoga for golf players, Tantra yoga, yoga for children. During my further studies I have dived deeper into Yoga Therapy.

For my bachelor thesis I focused on yoga therapy in patients with thyroid disorders. My other specialization was the use of yoga for problems such as infertility, obesity, diabetes, backache and defects of the spine, as well as depression. Thanks to the deeper focus on backache and depression I discovered the inversion therapy “yoga inversion” and completed courses of Fly yoga, on which topic I started to lecture in May of 2011 for the Fitlight studio in Prague and in the St. Catherine resort.
During my journeys to India I completed yoga workshops, „yoga and ayurveda“ courses, and I visited the Institute of Yoga Healing in Nasik. India (Rishikesh especially) is a very inspirational place for me and I will always get back there to get energy, inspiration and new knowledge. I discover the new and unknown also during my study journeys across the United States and Great Britain.

In the beginning of 2012 I started to attend Anusara yoga courses and I hope to finish Shiva Rea – Prana Flow TT course soon (this course is focused on awakening and works with life energy – the prana). Yoga studies are an awesome and long journey and I will be happy to share my knowledge and experience with you.

Yoga can be practiced anywhere and anytime, really. For example – while sitting at work, at the airport, etc. Yoga – it’s not just positions, it’s much more.
