Dagmar Pecková was born in Chrudim. She studied at the State Conservatory in Prague. After the engagement in Sächsische Staatsoper in Dresden, she was a member of Staatsoper in Berlin for several years.

During her successful professional career she performed on world’s most renowned opera and concert stages, such as Bayerische Staatsoper, Carnegie Hall New York, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Hamburgische Staatsoper, National Theatre in Prague, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Opéra national de Paris, Opernhaus Zürich, Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London, San Francisco Opera, Sächsische Staatsoper, Staatstheater Stuttgart, Theater Basel, Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris, Teatro Sao Carlos in Lisbon, Wigmore Hall in London and many others.

She repeatedly performed at prestigious international music festivals, e.g. the Edinburg International Festival, Salzburger Festspiele, the Prague Spring or the SchleswigHolstein Music Festival where she was a resident performer in 2004.

She has sung under the direction of famous conductors, for example J. Bělohlávek, S. Bychkov, S. Cambreling, P. M. Davies, Ch. von Dohnanyi, Ch. Dutoit, Ch. Eschenbach, V. Fedoseyev, M. Honeck, N. Järvi, Ch. Mackerras, K. Nagano, F. Luisi, V. Neumann, L. Pešek, K. Petrenko, G. Prétre, P. Scheider, S. Young and W. Sawallisch.

She has frequently cooperated with prestigious orchestras, such as the Bamberger Symphoniker, BBC Symphony, Cleveland Symphony, Česká filharmonie, Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra, DSO Berlin, London Symphony, Münchner Philharmoniker, NHK Symphony Orchestra Tokyo, Orcherstre de la Suisse Romande, Pittsburg Symphony, Orchestras of WDR, SWR, MDR and NDR, Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg, PKF – Prague Philharmonia, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, RSO Frankfurt, Staatskapelle Berlin, Staatskapelle Dresden, Symfonický orchestr hl. m. Prahy FOK, The Philharmonia, Tonhalle Zürich, Wiener Philharmoniker, Wiener Symphoniker and others. She has worked with record companies Hänssler Classic, Supraphon, Teldec and Warner Music. In 2017, she performed the leading role in 17 productions of the show Wanted on the stage of Lucerna Prague.

She contributed to the project also as theauthor of the story and is one of the script co-authors. The successful project was later presented at the opening of the prestigious Kurt Weill Fest in Dessau in 2019.
