THEME: “AI ON OUR PLATE: HOW TECHNOLOGY IS CHANGING THE FUTURE OF FOOD”

How will technology change our approach to food? We will explore the impact of innovative and exponential technologies on the future of food, including new methods of producing meat from animal cells.

Roman is an entrepreneur who has built or co-founded several companies, including Global DTP, Global E-learning, and Home Institute, and has also invested in several startups. He was a founding member and the program director of Future Port Prague, the largest international futurist event in Central Europe. He has also studied exponential technologies in the USA.

Thanks to his network of contacts and the knowledge he gained through Future Port, Roman decided not only to organize events about future technologies but also to take action. In 2020, Roman founded Mewery, the first European cellular food-tech startup developing cultivated pork based on microalgae, with the potential to change the entire meat industry.

Is AI male or female?
AI is “for now” a non-sentient language model that is not a sentient being, so neither answer is correct. It depends on what we use AI for, and based on that “use case,” we can individually perceive AI as male or female. However, we naturally often refer to AI as “she.”

What is AI according to AI?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a field of computer science that focuses on developing machines and software systems capable of performing tasks that require intelligence, such as learning, decision-making, pattern recognition, problem-solving, or understanding natural language. AI aims to simulate human cognitive abilities and can be implemented in various forms, from simple algorithms to advanced neural networks.

What questions do you most often ask AI?
I use AI across various fields. I ask investment and financial questions, marketing strategies, and I use AI for translations and adding diacritics (this text I’m writing with diacritics for once:)). I also often use it with my kids when we are curious about questions like “how do sharks sleep,” and so on.
